s3lim is designed to help engineers and DevOps teams regain control of their S3 storage costs. By providing high-performance inventory analysis and clear metrics, we make it easy to uncover hidden costs, identify duplicate objects, and optimize storage classes without the overhead of heavy, complex tools.

The Challenge

Object Storage is a transformative technology and has created incredible value, but left unchecked can generate significant cost and performance issues. It’s easy to let buckets grow unchecked because storage is cheap… until it’s not. That’s where s3lim comes in. Traditional Object Storage Observability is at a high level with aggregations at coarse granularity and there is little insight available into the contents of large buckets due to their scale. Indexing and reporting on every object would be prohibitively expensive for providers so they offer more targeted tools such as Storage Lens Advanced Scopes or GCP Storage Intelligence. s3lim uses streaming aggregation technology to process massive inventory files in resource-constrained serverless environments, capturing overall trends, cost drivers, and prefix hotspots with extreme speed and bounded memory.
